I hand dyed all the yarn on the outside, and used a hand spindle to make the thinker yarn for the lower part of the hat to warm the ears. Since wool can cause itching for many people, I used a single ply acrylic yarn to line the inside of the hat and sewed it in in along the stitching of the hat.
